Definition
Contextual grounding describes the relation by which an expression, claim, representation, or output is interpreted with reference to contextual information relevant to the represented situation.
The model separates the available context source, determination of contextual relevance, grounding relation, and resulting grounded interpretation without prescribing a retrieval method, model architecture, dialogue mechanism, or operational procedure.
